The City awarded the first group of returned scholars on September 19. 15 people were cited as Excellent Returned Scholars of Ningbo City, each of whom got 20,000 yuan as award.

　　According to statistics, by the end of June 2009, the city has got six startup gardens, with floor space of 230,000 square meters for incubation purpose. The returned scholars have started up 300 companies with investment totaling 500 LED Bulbs  million yuan, trading volume 690 million yuan, and tax turned over 183 million yuan. In addition, there are 20 startups that have yielded a trading turnover of 10 million yuan respectively.
